Ingenica’s very own James Crockford completed his first triathlon to raise money for a local charity on Sunday 29/08/21 in a very impressive time of 2 hours and 10 mins – Well done James! We are incredibly proud of you,
James was also due to do his first skydive as part of the fund raising, but due to bad weather this has been postponed until September & we will keep you updated on how he is getting on – Team Ingenica wish him the very best of luck!
James has been raising money for a small local charity called George’s Rockstars which was set up in memory of 6-year-old George who fought leukaemia from 22 months old and sadly passed away in 2019. The mission of George’s Rockstars is to make children in hospital smile by providing music therapy in children’s hospital wards. Whilst James cannot claim to be musical in any way, shape or form, he does have a 6-year-old and so the story really resonated with him.
The triathlon took place in the New Forest and included a 400m open water swim, a 33km bike ride and a 5km run.
Before the triathlon James said “Now the wrong side of 35, I have decided to get into triathlon. It’s something I have wanted to do for several years, having been a keen runner in the past. This will be a huge challenge but the great cause I am raising money for will drive me on to succeed”
After the triathlon James reflected “I am really proud to get this first triathlon under my belt. It was tough going but the great cause and peoples kind donations got me over the finish line!”
