The HSJ Partnership Awards 2019 has today announced Ingenica Solutions with Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, is shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Procurement Support or Service Project of the Year’ category, which recognises that better procurement is not just about money.
Our entry has been selected as a finalist as it highlights a project which is delivering tangible improvements; improvements to both costs and patient safety. It also demonstrates how Ingenica Solutions has helped the trust secure benefits that it could not have achieved on its own.
An inventory management improvement programme at the Trust included the implementation of Ingenica Solutions’ 360; the first GS1 certified inventory management solution in the NHS, and an enabler for GS1 standards and Scan4Safety.
“Our project showcases the substantial value that has been delivered working in partnership with Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust to improve procurement processes. It demonstrates how innovative technology, together with positive, joint working, has transformed the trust’s procurement and resulted in substantial benefits. The benefits realised at Taunton are repeatable across the NHS where less than 20% of trusts have invested any time or money in managing inventory and thus procurement more effectively; we hope this project leads the way for others,” said Damien Marmion, CEO.
The award ceremony announcing the winners will take place on Wednesday 20th March 2019 in London.
