Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has awarded Ingenica Solutions an inventory management contract. The deal, signed in November 2014, is expected to help the Trust to save thousands of pounds per year by allowing it to better monitor and track its supplies.
The new contract is for the supply and implementation of Atticus™, Ingenica Solution’s effective end-to-end inventory management solution for the NHS, which improves efficiency and reduces cost throughout the ‘procure to pay’ cycle. Ingenica Solutions was selected from the six suppliers available on the Portsmouth Framework agreement for inventory management. The phased implementation of Atticus™ will begin in the head and neck theatres, followed by additional phases that will eventually lead to roll-out of the solution across the entire trust.
In response to the growing need to find new cost improvements within the NHS, which do not impact on clinical staffing levels or the quality of hospital care, the Trust has developed a detailed savings programme. Its investment in Atticus™ forms part of its plan to adopt innovative technologies to help improve the internal supply chain at the Trust.
